NOW OPEN: Oslo

MAX MARA OSLO FLAGSHIP STORE

Max Mara opens a new store in Oslo: more than 400 square meters of selling surface, divided into two floors in 16B, Karl Johans Gate.

Every detail has been considered to reflect the seductive touch, irresistible feel and timeless elegance of a Max Mara collection. Immediately drawing the eye to the reflective expanse of rare green Calacatta marble serving as a backdrop for accessories, fine leather goods and eyewear.

This project is a continuous play on contrasts. Expansive volumes enfold intimate spaces. The dramatic rigour of modern materials demand to be seen, but are softened by traditional elements - an invitation to touch. The floor is mostly made with an Italian exclusive natural stone, ‘Ceppo di Gré’, but in some spaces the brutalist materials are softened throughout by floors of French herringbone parquet in aged, certified and sustainable oak.

A staircase, panelled with wood and characterized by a large Barrisol carved into the ceiling, connects the ground and first floors. Individual ‘living areas’ are furnished with iconic pieces from the master of neoplasticism Gerrit Rietveld over CC Tapis rugs and the sofas in a palette of olive green are an invitation to linger. The changing rooms are generous yet intimate spaces with soft furnishings in creamy boucle wool.

The new Oslo home of Max Mara is a study in powerfully modern femininity.
