The look was worn by Adut Akech
In light of the CNMI Sustainable Fashion Awards 2022 ceremony, which took on Sunday 25th September 2002 at Teatro alla Scala di Milano, Max Mara presented a look, worn by Adut Akech, comprised of a top with an american neckline in pure printed silk with a wide bow on the back paired with a long skirt in pure printed linen; a tactile-looking material in its natural tones.
Adut Akech, of South Sudanese origin, was born during the journey to the Kakuma refugee camp in Kenya. Today, she is one of the most prominent talents in the fashion world, winning The Fashion Awards ’2019 Model of the Year’, as well as the TIME’s ‘’TIMES 100 NEXT’’. After having spent the first months of her life as a refugee in Kenya, Adut and her family then moved to Australia where she grew up. In 2016 she took part in the casting for Anthony Vaccarello’s first Saint Laurent show and since then she became the muse of many famous stylists. In addition to having posed for various campaigns, Adut has graced the covers of important international magazines including Vogue America, British Vogue and Vogue Italia. She has also collaborated with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to support refugees all around the world so that her living experience can serve as a source of inspiration.
